  19. 1) Read the manual for more information on WireGrid for Windows 
  20. (see section 3.2 for printing/reading the manual --- User's Guide).

  22. 2) The WireGrid executable winwire.exe is by default a DEMO version. 
  23. This DEMO version is restrictive in only one aspect --- you can save 
  24. only 15 elements when using the DEMO version. You will thus be able 
  25. to get a good idea of what you will be able to do with the package. 
  26. To use the FULL version (no restrictions), you have to purchase WireGrid. 
  27. The current prices are:

  52. This disk contains the self extracting zip files:
  53. a) inst_f.exe --- Zipped WireGrid executable
  54. b) manual.exe --- Zipped WireGrid manual (Latex format)
  55. c) examples.exe --- Zipped WireGrid examples

  59. 2) Introduction
  60.    ~~~~~~~~~~~~

  62. This is the second release of the NEC pre-processor WireGrid for Windows 
  63. (WinWire). WireGrid has been developed by EM Software & Systems in 
  64. collaboration with the University of Stellenbosch (Stellenbosch, South Africa). 
  65. We have used it for a number of practical modelling problems and found it 
  66. extremely useful. The most useful feature is the automatic wiregrid 
  67. generation feature for equivalent conducting surface modelling. 
  68. We have many ideas for improving the code --- but would appreciate 
  69. contributions/suggestions from any person using WireGrid. We 
  70. suspect that there could be a number of BUGS. We would therefore appreciate 
  71. it if you can inform us of the BUGS you have encountered while using 
  72. WireGrid.

  75. 3) Installation
  76.    ~~~~~~~~~~~~

  78. Copy all files to an appropriate directory. Then follow the installation 
  79. steps described below.

  81. 3.1) Installation of WireGrid executable:
  82.      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  84. Execute the file inst_f.exe. The file, inst_f.exe, is a self-extracting 
  85. zip file. The execution of inst_f.exe will result in the creation of the 
  86. executable WireGrid ver 2.11 file: winwire.exe. Create a program group in 
  87. Windows (Program Manager File/New Program Group option). Create a program 
  88. item in Windows (Program Manager File/New Program Item). Choose winwire.exe 
  89. (with the correct directory path) in the Command Line box. Choose the 
  90. Change Icon option --- choose the WireGrid icon. Press OK. You should now 
  91. be able to run WireGrid by double clicking the WireGrid icon.

  93. 3.2) WireGrid User's Guide:

  96. Execute the file manuals.exe. The manual file man2_10.tex will be created. 
  97. This is in Latex format and NO figures/graphs are included. Read the 
  98. man2_10.tex file using NOTEPAD (or any text editor).

  102. 3.3) WireGrid example files:

  105. Execute the file examples.exe. The example files boat.he and car.he will be
  106. created. You can load these files into WinWire and play around with them.
  107. These examples show the typical problems WireGrid can be used for. 
  108. PLEASE NOTE: If you use the DEMO version of WireGrid, and save any one of 
  109. the example files, only the first 15 elements will be saved (the rest will 
  110. be lost!)
